Thanks for all your help! I ordered a new lift handle just in case.

On my deck bracket there are two holes the top hole is stamped Lt and the bottom hole is stamped SLT GT the cub cadet parts break down says my model uses the Lt hole. My owners manual shows the same thing you posted. So now I am really confused!

Thanks man! You are correct. I will check the handle for damage.For what it is worth the mower was delivered this way and has always bugged the @#$% out of me. I have the deck off for maintenance at this time so now is a good time to try and fix it.
