Trying to determine thread size for a ball valve plug?

I have a ball valve for as a quick oil change on my lawn tractor and the pipe into the valve is a 3/8 npt and I like to purchase a male plug for the other end and I can’t determine the thread size on the opposite side. I bough a 3/8 npt SS plug and it was much to large.

Cub Cadet ZT 1 42 inch w/fabricated deck?

Our house in on a half acre with a lot of trees, shrubs and landscaping beds, what would you recommend? And I have know that several brands are all manufactured by MTD. Actually, Stanley Black & Decker owns MTD as well as DeWalt.

Cub Cadet ZT 1 42 inch w/fabricated deck?

After looking at this mower and reading the specs it appears to be an excellent entry/residential Zero turn. It comes with a Kawasaki engine and the transmissions are the hydro gear 2200 which are a step up from the ones that come on the Exmark Quest entry level Zero turn. Is there someone here...

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

Mine is now set up with a stainless steel ball valve, secure and easy to change the oil, I even have a threaded plastic fitting attached to a plastic hose.

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

I did not have to mess with the engine attachment in order to install my piped drain with a ball valve.

Cleaning the engine on a walk behind 21 inch mower

My Honda HRN 21 inch mower had some debris & caked up oil on the block of the engine and I was wondering if it’s safe to spray on a degreaser ( heat the engine first?) on the engine and then spray the entire engine with water from a pump sprayed. Is this the best way to clean the mower?

Cub Cadet XT2 deck height adjustment?

The mower has the normal pre-determined cutting height and most are all too low while the the last (highest) notch is used most of the time. Would a know if I could raise the deck so that all of the pre determined height woul be a quarter or half inch higher?

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

Would not have been able to turn them to install, too close to the frame otherwise they would have to lowered below the frame. What I have should work well, can’t imagine why not?

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

I took a closer look at the photo of the valve and the handle cannot be positioned After an enlarged view of the photo of the valve, you can see a nub on the valve body and the handle will only work in that one position. I could just remove the handle but Im thinking it’s fine as is and will...

You are probably correct, I would have to be very careful when doing that though.

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

I replaced that cheap plastic easy drain that came standard on my Cub Cadet XT2 lawn tractor. The day after I changed the oil and filter, there was a puddle of oil on the shed floor from that plastic drain valve. I now have it piped with 3/8 inch stainless with a good quality ball valve and I...

I was going to cap it for added protection.

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

Now I’m wondering if I could add a ball valve for easy draining and if I could use this with galvanized pipe?

Also, does it matter if the piping is black pipe, galvanized or stainless steel?

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

. Good explanation and I’m definitely going to get rid of the plastic quick drain, a more appropriately name would be EZ Leak! Going to use 3/8 galvanized pipe, a 2 inch nipple, a street elbow, nipple and a cap. it will then be piped solid, against the frame and pointing straight down. Thanks!

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

It won’t tighten but will move slightly to the left & right, it the strangest thing! I guess Loctite or blue devil tape would be best & id feel more secure with a pipe & cap than a hose that could fail. Thanks

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

Exactly! I was thinking a piece of galvanized pipe with either a street elbow and a plug or a straight pipe and a plug. Can you explain why that hex nut will move back & forth by hand? That makes no sense to me!

Cub Cadet EZ oil drain pull & twist

I have a CC with a Kohler twin with the pull & twist drain valve. It seem as though oil is slo leaking out once the engine is running with heated oil and I’d obviously like to fix this. There are lots of YouTube videos associated with this but there’s something that I’m not understanding and I’m...

    Non ethanol fuel question

So I guess my original post had some validity but my concern still is as follows; If the available ethanol free fuel is 91 octane, is it safe to use that or should I mix a little normal fuel (10% ethanol) to dilute the octane rating? Another point of interest is that since most service stations...
