    Loping engine

Would it fire on starter fluid? Just to rule out a spark issue. If it was running with it before(I know it was poorly) and will not now suggests you did not put something back correctly. Check the O rings and make sure everything is tight. I would double check everything from the spark plug...

How much should I sell my mower for?

Yes, How well it has been maintained is one of the most important factors. How it looks reflects on that. It is not the years, it is the hours of run time. That is why good tractors have hour meters. I have to say that to people all of the time. They think it is like a car that is driven every...

Toro Timecutter 4250 - love it! Hate it! A modest proposal

It is like a zero turn. Not recommended for hills. But , if you do negotiate a hill you have to go straight up and down as you mentioned. You seem to be doing the best you can with it which seems acceptable enough. I have a friend with a Snapper 28" riding mower with a 8HP Briggs. The thing...

How much should I sell my mower for?

Pricing is very regional. If it is clean and well maintained and you have the bag...... around where I live, $200-300 is a common range. You have to do your homework where you live and see what they are selling for on FBM and Craigs list.

Does a GCV160 (Honda) have a fuel filter?

I find it better to clean the carb than take a chance on an aftermarket that may be flawed. They are pretty easy to clean. I have a good success rate. The bowls and gaskets can be purchased separately if they are damaged beyond reasonable repair.

Honda self-propelled hard to pull backwards

This is a common problem on Some Honda's of that model number. I have seen some so bad it will tear up your grass. You have to remove the rear axle and clean and lubricate all of the bushings and bearings. You may have to replace some of them if they are worn. Sorry this is not the answer you...

What is a good price for a one year old Honda HRX217?

To be clear, in the video he said Honda is out of the USA market for selling lawn mowers. I would bet that Honda will come out with an electric mower for the USA market at some point. It seems that is the overwhelming trend. Pricing is regional. If you look toward the end of the summer you...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

Super Tech does offer a "Lawn Mower" oil which is a 10w-30. I have only seen it in an 18oz bottle. They do not offer much info on it. I assume it is similar to the Briggs oil or John Deer 10w-30 small engine oil. i.e made for air cooled engines that run hotter and have more ZDDP. But I have no...

Toro Recycler sits Uneven/Wobbles when all wheels set to same height

That is actually an older Recycler. Not as cheap as they are today. I can tell by the Quantum Engine on it. It is at lease 11 years old. If the deck has cracks in it. you have a few options. Bend it back to the original shape as best you can. You can weld the cracks if you know someone who...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

I am curious as well. Post those test results please. I just went out the garage and looked at a bottle of Super Tech SAE HD30 and it is rated at SP. I bought this in the past several months. I have read elsewhere that ST is made by Warren. I also saw a You Tube video with a guy saying...

    Valve oil seals

thanks..... I do not know why I did not find that page when I look on Jacks. In the diagram notes it say the valve stem seal comes with the gasket kit but when I look at the provided picture for gasket kit 1484115s they do not show the seal. I may just order both and at the worst I end up...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

My only interest in SAE 40 is for tired engines not worth rebuilding but trying to get less oil burning, plug fouling, smoking and a few more days out of them. I have tried 20w-50 but it will smoke a lot at start up. More smoking than SAE 30. So I have stayed with the SAE 30. I think the...

    Valve oil seals

I am trying to find the P/N for Valve oil seals on a XT675. The Engine is used on Toro's. When I look it up it is greyed out and appears unavailable. No part number is given. They do not appear to come in the head gasket kit. Does any one have any insight to share?

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

I see SAE 30 out there, weather it is in an auto part store ACE, Tractor Supply or Walmart. Not hard for me to find it in New England. I am looking for SAE 40 and that is hard to find. I Just can not find it in a store. On line the prices are ridiculous. BTW, Lake Speed Jr. did some oil...

    New drain plug design

And why a T50? A lot of Torx sets do not run that high. Many stop at T40 or T45. It is what it is. A Drainz-it type of aftermarket set up is idea for any homeowner to eliminate the mess and time to do an oil change. Well worth it.
