Thanks for you reply that was no help at all. Yes that dust is from over the winter being stored in a barn with chickens and goats 10 foot away. Not everyone lives in a subdivision and parks theirs in a climate controlled garage.

I have replaced the head gaskets and the heads and valves look fine.

The dust on the outside is from where it's just been sitting out in the barn over the winter. The engine is clean and the filter box is clean. I just haven't pressure washed the outside of the mower yet this season because when I first started up this happened. But yes, the smoke is whitish...
