    All the best for 2016...

It is too late to say "Happy New Year", but I just want to wish all members of LMF/LW the very best for this new year that lays ahead of us. Health, wealth and happiness (and maybe a lawn mower or two...) Take care, Jamie.

    I'm back

Just thought I'd better let you guys know that I am now back and will not be leaving again... Not that I "left" so much, but life just got very busy. A full-time job coupled with other "issues" makes it very difficult to find any time to turn on the PC much less to browse and post on forums...

1994 Sterling Cyclone with Tecumseh Vantage 35

For the past, well, year almost - I have been without a petrol (gas) mower. I did briefly own an Atco Commodore, but it's best we don't go there!! Anyway, last week I picked up a Sterling Cyclone (probably unknown here in the UK let alone USA and Canada!) push mower with the Tecumseh Vantage...

    Connecticut Shooting

I have been following the shooting in a Connecticut school and my heart goes out to all involved. I pray those killed are at peace and that the survivors have the strength to go on after what they have experienced today. It is tragic and why did it happen? I do not know, but I am hoping we...

    Armistice Day - 11/11/12

It doesn't seem like a year since the last one (which was also a palindrome) but there you go, time flies. To all those who have served and are serving, you have our utmost respect and praise.

How shall you be preparing your mower for winter?

Will you use the good old fashioned method of keeping the oil and fuel in the mower and firing it up once a week during the winter months, or will you drain the fuel and change the oil then let it lie until the Spring? I shall be doing the latter mainly because my shed is cluttered as it is...

    What's your format of choice?

In music, that is. The four contenders are: Vinyl Cassette Compact Disc Or - gulp - DOWNLOADS! My favourite is vinyl and as I type this I'm playing a Roy Orbison 33 1/3 on my turntable and having a good foot tapping time. My second favourite would be compact disc purely for the longevity...

There we go for another year...

Today I've mowed the front and back lawns for the last time this year. I last mowed them about 2 weeks ago and for the last 6-7 days they haven't grown at all so that's the season over. Last year I kept on mowing 'till mid November so that just shows how cold it is this October. Just need to...

    I am back...

Yes, sorry about my absence, just wasn't in the mood for posting in forums much lately, but I'm back! "Oh God" I hear you all muttering

Change oil before or after winter ?

I recently read a Haynes manual that says to change the oil in a mower before storage, but some people say to do it at the start of the season. Which one would you recommend ?

From now on - Weekly mowing!

Or at least here in Scotland it is. How often are you having to mow in your lawn ?

    Panic no more, I'm back!

I sure am! Just 10 minutes ago my home broadband connection went live and I can now browse the net again for the first time in over a month. And I'm not lying or sucking up when I say that I've really missed being an active member of the best Lawn Mower Forum on the world wide...

How did your mower do post-storage ?

Yesterday I decided I'd start the mowing season early this year, as it has been unseasonably warm, and got the 2011 Mountfield SP414 2.6HP 100CC Walk Behind out of the shed, where it has been since late October '11. I filled it with fuel, cleaned off the grass from the deck, checked the oil...
