The man had a lot of experience and incide into other fields that were of interest. Sometimes he would get a little contankeous but all of the experienced techs, even on here get to the point of flutuating between wanting to choke the engineers and choke the customers.

Not really. Things can vary depending on year, and there may be several changes from year to year and there could be a few similar models over those years. So really need the info from under seat.

Couldn't of installed the new coil upside down possibly. That can also cause starting issues in some cases.

May not be a bad idea to check the flywheel key. A sheared key won't start but will still produce spark.

Some of the early Courage single with the cover bolts coming loose also had issues with the counterbalance retaining strap, that keeps the weight running straight will break and the counterbalance weight cracks or flat out ventilates the rear of the lower crankcase.
