I did some deeper cleaning and did find Kohler numbers etched in the SAM 24 584 09 REVD 01065 . Piecing the numbers from the coils together they are 24-584-15 00235.

Just over 900 hours and 2002 based on mower mowerserial number being a mid 2002 model. Good to know on a used SAM. My research had led me to think they were had to trust at this age.
