Check the PTO fuse and all the fuses. Could be the PTO switch as the start circuit goes through the PTO switch. The faint click you are earing is probably the fuel solenoid in the carburetor.

The new style ones are not rebuildable or greaseable. I usually replace the bearings in the old-style spindles. Looks like some of the ones listed are rebuildable and greaseable. Be sure and get the long shaft one for the center spindle.

Let's see a new mower 19 20 HP 42 inch deck gear drive retails for $2200. How long will it last. 10 years? $2200 divided By10 = $220 depreciation per year. So, if you get it when it is 5 years old is it worth $1100 resale value?
