Sorry for the delayed update. I went and got a new battery and it is still not starting. It will turn 1/2 turn and won’t go further. Maybe a weak starter?

I have the Kohler KT 745 engine which looks like it doesn’t have the Automatic Compression Release. I took one spark plug out and it spun better but still stopped quickly followed rapid clicking noise from the starter relay.
