Yep, 18yrs on mower and 4th set of blades. I do use a 24" breaker bar to break'em loose and tighten.

Anyone used any type of a coating underneath their deck to keep it from rusting, caking w/cut grass and dirt? I've wondered about something like truck bed coating, spraying with WD-40 every once and a while?

Yep, anti-seize on threads, and I remove my blades monthly to clean underdeck and re-sharpen and balance, so bolts haven't been on too long anyway.

Have to say, surprised your deck bearings are gone, also both idlers. My super Z is 17years old, replaced maybe 2 idlers in that time, haven't had to do anything w/deck spindles yet. If I had a bad one, I'd just replace all 3 at one time. I actually replace my hydro filter and oil every-other...
