Curious to know if you fixed it? I have a Craftsman YT3000 and it runs good, but has a sputter/miss as it runs. Still cuts the grass, but is such a pain not to run smooth

didn't know the powersource 173cc motors had an ACR (compression release?). I just replaced a cam on a briggs 21 hp rider.

Agree with Berts. Normal warmup time for most motors is 30-60 seconds

Have a cub cadet with a 173 cc powermore motor. Cleaned the carb as it would not start, when pulling then it pulled fine. I got the carb cleaned and started it. Did not notice any jerk back and motor ran fine. Shut it off, washed it and then tried to start again. Cord was hard to pull and then...

but what about when the dipstick is in...pressure builds and shoots the oil out the top

pulled flywheel. cleaned breather valve, changed carb. also pulled head. Head gasket was ok. replaced to spec. funny thing though. I turned the motor by hand, nothing until the engine made half a revolution then oil came out of the oil fill hole (dipstick removed) in large quantities. continue...

replaced the carb, took off the flywheel and checked the breather valve (white plastic disc with spring on top) and cleaned. started up and pressure was back on dipstick cap after shutting off. Pressure is building in the crankcase. oil was at level before starting.

So if it a fuel polluted problem, new carb should fix it (rebuilt this carb already). If it is the breather valve, how do you fix it. Great little mower, would like to fix.

Check a restricted fuel line. Had it happen to me today, rebuilt the carb twice before I discovered the line had deteriorated and collapsed,

besides, wouldn't gas come out of the carb after sitting a few hours? Not a drop

engine is off. no moving parts when dipstick removed. Still comes out...fast!
