    Best for hills?

That depends on how much you weigh. With a zero turn, I had a problem with the rear end sliding down hill and getting stuck. More than once I’ve had to tow it out of the ditch with my truck, so I had no choice but to mow sideways to the slope. What I do is to lean forward and to the uphill side...

Grass isn't cut between the blades.

Make sure your blades have been mounted correctly to run in the right rotation. I purchased a rider from a relatives widow that said her husband bought a new mower just before he passed away because the old mower no longer cut the grass well. Upon inspection, I discovered that one of the blades...

    Mulching blades?

I have the same blades as these on my zero turn and mine has always left cut lines regardless whether a discharge plug is used or not. It came with regular straight blades and it still did it with those, too. I’ve double checked the level and cut height of both the blades and the deck. It has...

Simple question; answer, maybe not so much

I change oil and do a full service and lube every spring. We get 4 full seasons here and the equipment is stored in an unheated building with a full tank of gas. I’m sure that with the extreme temperature swings, that there is an increased likelihood that moisture condenses inside the engine...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

One place canola lives is near me, which is about 20 miles south of the TN state line in Alabama. Acres and acres of it is grown and farmed yearly. BTW, lots of soybeans to make soybean oil and soybean meal to is farmed right next to it.

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

Correction; I meant to say in all my lawn equipment.

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

I’ve been using Shell Rotella 15W40 T4 oil in all my non lawn equipment for over 25 years and have never had any premature wear issues. I buy it by the 5 gal pail to get it cheaper than individual quarts.

    Tire pops off the rim

How I fixed my dry rot tires issues on my small tractor was to add a product called Ride-on. No more unexpected and sudden deflation, and it doesn’t rust the rim. https://www.ride-on.com/

    Let's talk about blade sharpening?

My dad has always sharpened his mower blades with his belt sander. It runs slower than a grinder so there’s less heat buildup and better control.

    Let's talk about blade sharpening?

All but one of my mower blades are heavy thick steel. Using a file is not an option and replacing with new blades is cost prohibitive. If I do find affordable blades, they are cheap junk that won’t hold an edge or bends with the slightest impact. After a good cleaning using a brass wire wheel in...

Free pickup find at curb—gotta get it going!

If you are talking about removing flash rust from inside the tank, plug all holes except the one for the filler cap. Fill completely with vinegar and let sit overnight. Drain out the next morning and add about a pound of copper coated steel BB’s along with diesel fuel or mineral spirits. Close...

    Cannot find oil drain plug

Your best bet is to just buy an oil suction pump either at HF or Rural King. I’ve used my HF version several times for everything from removing transmission fluid and engine oil to transferring the fuel in the tanks on my vintage Harley.

Still having fast idle when engine is warmed up. Cold idle is normal.

I think I must have overlooked the request for this information. The first vide is cold start up and run. The second video is after fully warmed up from cutting grass for 15 minutes.
