Have to agree with Ric, there are some bargains on craigslist... as well as some to stay away from. I bought mine off craigslist for $2300 and it only had 27 (less than 1 y/o)hours on it. This years model was around $3500. I saw a $1200 snapper pro model with 48" fabricated deck i would have considered, mostly because I had such a good experience with my previous snapper. Most places have the toro timecutter 4235 for around $2599 and the 4260 for $2999. I would take whoever will be using it to some dealers. they will let him test ride them, the box stores will not. At 72 years young... he might not like how responsive the zt type mowers are. The timecutters have a speed control to reduce the max speed from 6mph to 3mph.(at least I think it was them.
