Leaking crank seal

I have a 2008 Dixie Chopper with a GTV990 engine that one day just started leaking quite a lot of oil from crank seal on bottom side where pulley is attached. I replaced seal twice and each time placed it at a different level in case there was wear on the shaft but still leaks. Just wondering if anyone has had same issue and if there is a fix?
 
Haven't seen it on that engine but have seen issues with the bottom bearing on the Briggs twin OHV inteks wearing funny allowing oil to leak when the crankshaft is shifted to the side.
 
Thanks. The sump comes with a sleeve instead of roller bearing and if I'm reading right, it's all one unit. I'm wondering if the sleeve wallows out, would that cause leak at seal?

Never heard of a GTV990 engine . Is it an Onan? Who makes it? Obviously you are installing the oil seal incorrectly, or have the wrong part.
 
Have seen the bottom sleeve bushing work its way out. Moves down and cuts the seal. I took a pvc pipe and it fits over the shaft and drove the bushing back in. It did not move back down that I know of. Seems like I had to turn the outside of the pvc down to fit inside the crank case. Look to see if that your problem.
 
33 HP engine Dixie Chopper used them until about 2012. It was a great engine until the EPA came out with some new omission standards that
the engine did not meet. Instead of revamping the engine they just leaned the carb down that caused the engine to run hot. This made the exhaust valve crystalize and pop the head off the valve and destroy the engine. I've had the sump off and sleeve looked in correct position. I have ordered a new sump/sleeve, seal and gasket. Will update once installed. Thanks for all information.
