Fuel level level marker

This tank is hidden in the rear of the chassis and there are no provisions to add a fuel sender and gauge without some serious disassembly and fabrication.

Online automotive parts supply companies like Summit Racing do make universal sender units and programmable gauges. The tank would need to be modified for the sender unit and then it is a matter of where to put the gauge.

Solution #2 is to fill the tank up every time you use it. It shows to have a 4-gallon tank and the fuel use per hour will depend how heavy the grass is you are cutting at full throttle. Mowers are not made for "fuel mileage". A gallon per hour of heavy cutting is a baseline figure I would start with.

I base this 1-hour figure on what my Generac 15KW generator (30HP) uses per hour of run time under load at 3600 RPM.
 
if the tank cap is a common size and thread, you might be able to find a universal that sits in the tank. Depends how deep the tank is too. Or carry around a gas can, or strap a second smaller universal tank to it and use a two way valve to use it as a reserve when the main tank runs out. Checking before each mowing like a quick pre-flight is easiest. Check oil - Ok. Check tires - Ok, Check Fuel - Ok. No signs of mice etc.. Or you can wait until it dies and address it then.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. I was hoping that someone had addressed the issue. I didn't know if the were float balls that might be fuel resistant and show up better in the tank windows.
