In Hamilton Ontario Canada CENTEX is selling E 15 Gasoline. 15% Ethanol. Cheapest.
According to several sources, this is not good for pre 2020 Vehicles or small engines.
No anti knock sensor to ****** timing....Pre Ignition is not good for Pistons.
Google it.

It's the world's petroleum manufacturer's thinning out the gasoline fuel mix to make more profit per liter/gallon.

Ethanol blended fuel has never been good for anything with an aluminum carburetor or regular steel fuel lines, because it attracts moisture from the air. This moisture creates corrosion.

It is also cheaper to distil than petroleum products and the world has a surplus of corn and sugar beets to produce it from. Farmers make more profit per bushel/ton of dry corn and beets for fuel than they would growing the crops for food products.

Simply put. it's good for profits, but bad for engine fuel systems.

I will not elaborate any further because there are plenty of credible official industry reports that discuss this.

A while back, the National Academy of the Sciences funded a thorough study of ethanol added to fuels for gasoline engines. That study was released in February 2022. Then the study was peer-reviewed to see if the data and conclusion were correct. The peer reviews agreed. The effect of adding ethanol to fuels is polluting the air, water, and soil at a rate far greater than just 100% gasoline blends. Ethanol contributes 24% more CO2 to the atmosphere than 100% gasoline because of all the additional steps it takes to produce it. Since it exists only as a profit item for those making and distributing it, there has been little talk of removing it. Small engines will not tolerate 15% ethanol. I use 87 octane 10% ethanol all the time in small engines. Many people don’t agree with 10% ethanol in small engines and think I am wrong.

The local gas station Murphy USA where I used to get all my fuel for small engines has recently gone to 15% ethanol in 87 octane gas. Can’t get gas here anymore.

More corn (ethanol ) burns hotter and less efficient than gas. Reduced power and gas mileage is the result of ethanol in general. So they add more corn liquor to gas and keep the price the same. Nuts I tell you.
 
Hello M.,

Ethanol comes from cheap commodity crops that are easy to refine. They thin the real gasoline and pocket the profits. The phrase "Buy low and sell high" come to mind here.
