Kohler SV601 Pouring oil out the bottom

Motor went crazy, becoming extremely loud, a week ago when I went to mow. I immediately turned it off (within 5 seconds). I went back today to check and pour oil in it and when I poured it in, it came immediately out the bottom. Any idea what I'm looking at here? It was pouring out the hole next to the drive belt
 
Oil pan (cover plate) probably has a hole in it. The engine needs to be pulled to verify where the leaking spot is.

Indeed it does, and what looks like a crack on the side. Is this worth repairing with jb weld or should I get a replacement block, or just a new mower? I spent $350 on the mower... I like tinkering but not in vein.

It appears that the counterweght has broken loose. Since this is the Single cylinder courage engine, shortblocks maybe be in short supply since they were discontinued from Kohler a few years ago. And there are a few engines still on mowers that are running so maybe able to find a donor mower for the engine.

Agree that was what happen and a new to the mower engine is required. Apparently Kohler has finally gave up on the Courage line. So the spec number is needed for someone to find what PTO end of the crankshaft specs are. Then maybe we can suggest a new replacement engine.

Meanwhile I going to try to find the coffee pot if I can find my glasses first, still half asleep here.

Find what other engine option this rider may have come with. Another courage engine will not be a good choice in my opinion.

A Kohler Command should be a fairly simple and compatible solution.

If you happen change to a used B&S, it will require some adapting of the wiring, but it is not complex.
