New to Gravely's

Working on a Model 915144/ s/n 001766. The previous owner has really tried his best to: HotWire, ByPass, or use as much black tape as possible to get the machine to run. The harness is a mess. Toying with just buying a new harness($116).
I am first going to be sure the engine is ok.

Can someone let me know who built the drive units?

I appreciate the help in advance,

I didn't see a tag or any other identification on the drives themselves....during my stay on my knees. This is my first Gravely. I paid $100 for it so it's a project. I looked in the Gravely website for the make and model of the drives.

Thank you. Was this model originally shipped with a Kawasaki vee engine? This mower has a vee- B&S. From the looks of how totally mangled the wiring harness is
I'm wondering if the mower has been repowered....

The owners manual does list a Kawasaki engine as an original power plant. However, that could vary due to supply issues.
