I'm at my whits end! Is there any thing left I could try? I have replaced the gas tank, gas line, carburetor, air filter, and breather hose. None of these replacements made any difference. I did notice that running it without an air filter seems to correct the problem a little, but I don't like to run it much without a filter. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before?

Yes, I even went as far as replacing the kill switch, kill wire, and magneto! I'm beginning it's a breathing issue, but why only when tilted does it act up?
Just wanted to add, I also blew through the breather pipe and it seems to be clear. The air gurgles up through the dip stick. Another thing I thought of, could gas be running into the oil when I tip it even at a slight angle? If so, how would this be happening?

Yes, I thought I smelled a little bit of a gas smell at first when I replaced the carb, so I drained it all out and changed the oil. I have been checking my dip stick daily for any smell and there is none now and the oil is clean. It is an OEM carb.
Yes, the top of the engine is clean. I think I'm going to take the carb apart next and examine it as my next step.
What about the actual cooling fins that cool this air cooled engine? Not the upper most top plastic cover.

How low is the fuel in the tank and how steep is the incline you are going across? These fuel tanks have the fuel feed nipple on the right bottom side. When the engine is tilted or inclined to the left it may be starving the engine of fuel.
