Trick is a non hardening sealant. This stuff is great if YOU are the guy removing the cover next time.How do you do it without RTV?

Buy or make your own cork/neoprene gaskets, they will be reusable at least once if you don't overtighten the valve cover. I would use the 1/16"- 1/8" thick material. You can buy sheets of it at auto supply stores or probably Harbor Freight.How do you do it without RTV?
That is true if you use RTV on most formulas, not all. Read the directions on any sealant.I heard guys say to finger tighten the RTV down and wait 24 hours before torquing it.
Not all Kohlers have hydraulic lifters.If it's a Kohler engine then it has hydraulic lifters and no valve adjustment is needed.
