I have a 50" electric lift deck (1695392) on a Prestige (2691130-00). The maximum that the cutting height can be raised is to 2.5". Is there a way to get this cutting height raised higher? I like to keep the grass longer.
Check your chains on the rear of the deck. Go to the second link and you may get the height you want. There is an adjustment for the front height of the deck with a rod at the back of the deck. Shortening the rod raises the front of the deck. Those stupid deck motors die all the time. The old crank system never fails. Check the deck rollers aren't worn. The centers will wear faster than the outsides. The biggest complaint i get on simplicity's in the shop is cut height.
Advice from a random guy on the internet. Take with a grain of salt.
I will try the second link on the chains. Will the rollers reach the ground? I understand about the bar and adjusting front deck height. Rollers are in good shape as the unit only has 77 hours. This is a new to me Prestige. Got into it initially because I was looking for a 4x4 for snowblowing. My old early 90s Broadmoor had the crank to adjust deck height, and it worked great!
If the front deck height is correct and the electric lift is working properly you should get close to 4 inches of cut height. I have seen the lift mechanism on the electric decks bind up and not have full range of travel. The chain trick usually hold the rollers slightly off the ground but it get some folks the height they want
.
I also notice that I have the chains attached to the slot of the curved part of the shaft assembly. The owner's manual shows the chains attached to the hole. I wonder if that is part of my height problem?
