I have a Honda HRR2166vxa walk behind mower and can not find this model number on any of the parts look up sites I frequent.
I even went on the Honda site and can not find the model number listed.
What is going on?

thanks star tech. I want to cross check everything so that I carefully order the right parts for the machine. I found different pictures for the crankshaft which I think I want. To make sure I did a look up by engine model number and had the same issue. There were no listings for the engine. It is CGV216a0 mu4r280. GJAPA 101087.

Is there some magic cross reference book to find the correct numbers to substitute to use a parts look up tool?

I think the correct crankshaft is 06131-Z8B-W50. it has 3 steps in it. The two smaller diameters are 22mm and 20mm.

See if you can find the alpha-numeric type code for the engine. So far I got it down to a GCV160A0 but there is about 30 type codes. I see the crankshaft drawing and the 06131-Z8B-W50 does not appear to be the correct crankshaft.

But the measurements given it appears to this crankshaft's line drawing that you are looking for.

That is the correct line drawing. I am not sure how to go from there. Where is the alpha-numeric type code found on the engine? All I see is a sticker on the gas tank that has the info I typed above.

Should be engraved on the crankcase. A bunch tiny dots forming numbers and letters.

What is engraved is GJAPA 101087 MU4X is engraved on the block above the dip stick. I think that is the serial number???

I spoke with a Honda dealer and they confirmed the crankshaft number I have is the correct number.

I asked about the cost of a new engine and he could not x ref to an exact engine with the numbers I had. He said he would have to call Honda.

I want to give the customer the option to replace the engine instead of replacing the Crankshaft and seals. I do not know which would be better for them with out knowing the price of a new engine.

It is a lot of labor to replace the crankshaft and it is a about a13 yr old engine. Runs good but is it worth investing in $75 in parts plus labor vs. installing a new. That is now the big question and can not make with out the info.

I looked on SMall Engine parts warehouse and they do not have anything with the shaft configuration needed for the blade clutch.

Thanks. The only big question is the shaft configuration. The Description says 7/8 diam and If that is true it will be wrong. A picture would be nice as a sanity check.

That what I trying to find but as usual they hide stuff at times.

BTW 7/8 is darn pretty well close to M22. off by a nearly quarter of a mm.
