Headlight socket question

Searching the web I can't find an answer.
Maybe someone has done this to upgrade the sockets.
My machine (131650000) has the these:



Can newer type replace them ?

It looks like the originals grounded on the machine itself. The new sockets have two connectors, one for power and one for ground. If you switch to the plastic bodied ones, you'll have to run another wire for return to ground. If the plastic ones fit in the opening, you will likely be fine.

Actually, if you look close, the original has two as well. You should be good to go!

But will the newer style fit in ?
Are the dimensions of the later ones the same as the hole of the headlight bucket ?
I'm not worried about wiring.
