MTD front wheel bushings

I don't know if it is possible, but would having bronze bushings all the way
thru the hub rather than at the ends provide a better system?

I would think, a properly fitted FULL-LENGTH bushing would be a better choice, any room to drill and tap the wheel hub for a zerk..??

It would have to be drilled at an angle...

McMaster has the bushing stock in 3", 6 1/2" and 13" lengths....
I have to check the bore size thru the hub.

Time for some Measuring & Machining, BUT .. the end result may be rewarding, however in your case, you'll probably sit down with a case of Brewski's and say... Screw-It ! .. :laughing:..:laughing:
 
I received and installed the bronze flange bushings today.
Oilites on the inside and super oilites on the outers. I hope I got that right..
anyway, I had to press them in with the hydraulic press, then had to clean up the spindles
to get them on. A tight fit all the way around. (the old plastic bushings practically fell out...some actually did!)
I made sure to grease things up really well.
Now we see how ling they last..................
