Nube here: My Briggs 18.5 engine locks up when trying to crank it. Without the sparkplug it spins real fast and has good compression. I have no gauge but it blows my finger out of the hole with a lot of pressure . I pulled the head and the valves are not stuck. The pushrods were opening the valves as best as I could see. What else can I do? :confused2:

Either valve clearance or your decompressor has broken which
