I'm a happy owner of a Hustler Fastrak with a 54" mowing deck until here lately. The mower stopped engaging. Ohmed out the pto clutch=0. Replaced the clutch. Still nothing. Replaced the ignition switch, voltage regulator, starter solenoid and pto switch. The seat and neutral switches are all bypassed for testing. Still no deck action. I have 33 vac at my voltage regulator, and 14.4vdc coming out. I am at wits end on this thing. What else do I need to check\replace???
 
Oh what a great and humbling afternoon!!! After all the checking, diagnosing and parts changing. I had the fuses in the wrong slots. I cannot believe the he!! I have been through to have something as "too much resistance" beat me like a stray hound.
Thanks to all for your input, it certainly put me in the correct place.

It seems to me with all the parts you replaced it would of been cheaper to pay the labor to have a experience mechanic work on it???

Good job joeyblazek, pat yourself on the back, we all have to remember to start with most basic simplest place to start when troubleshooting. Save replaced parts for future, you may need them.
 
Yes its a good job and he got the pride of finding the problem. I guess seeing I have always had to work hard for my money I just hate wasting it on parts I will never need. Do you do this same thing when you car gives you problems? As I see it he did no trouble shooting and I know as a fact I couldn't do work in my shop on customer jobs like that.
 
i would like to add. My new clutch came from xclutches.com out of Boca Raton, Fla. Very professional folks and certainly a pleasure to do business with! Getting an upgraded part for $100 bucks made the whole thing sting a little less.
