LX 173 stops running when it gets hot

My John Deere LX 173 dies after it warms up.No spark.Starts easy after it cools.Any suggestions what to look for.? Thanks new member steve

It might be the coil.

No, vapor lock would not cause no spark. As stated, bad coil. The coil is either hot shorting to ground or hot opening. Either condition will cause no spark. Solution, replace the coil.

Removing the carb, cleaning, replacing gaskets took care of it for me.
Pull the pin so the float will come off, be careful to watch the seat pin removal and it orientation in the hole. The carb diagram is deceiving.
