Got my 52" Raptor yesterday. I would have posted pics then but had to give it a once-over and mow the lawn which had 2 weeks growth. It cut super nice, quiet, and never plugged up once. Loving the first stage of our relationship.

Very nice. I was pleasantly surprised that after 4 mowings I had almost zero buildup of grass. My old Cub was clogged every mowing.

My Ariens plugged multiple times on a regular mowing. I've never mowed grass as tall as the first cut with the Hustler and she came through with flying colors. I also noticed that when I cut diagonally over a small hill that one of my front tires left the ground. I've never noticed that before on the Ariens ZTR. That is what a rigid frame should do, instead of flexing. I'm impressed!

Just came in from mowing. I am in Cherry Valley and a good 1/4 acre of my yard has standing water. While the Raptor can easily mow it, the ruts are a no-no. It might be 10" tall before a dry out. I also noticed the front tires leaving the ground. No doubt the frame is stiff. My neighbor watched me mow and he turned to his Wife and said something. Maybe it was "See honey, if I get one of those I will have more time to do laundry".

Hello all.
New to this forum, but trading up from a 1979 JD 316 to a 54" Raptor SD. No pictures yet, the machine should be delivered this week.

Hello, from a new owner of a Hustler Raptor SD 60

Hello,

Just a short intro from me, I'm a new owner of a Hustler Raptor SD 60", and love it so far.
I live in the northern tier of the midwest USA, Minnesota, where men are men but mosquitoes rule the roost.
Joining to hear from users tips and tricks, recommendations, experiences etc.
I've got a three acre lot, mostly pasture grass. Before this I had a 42" lawn tractor with a stamped deck.
Took me four hours to mow this jungle.
Can't complain though, it still runs well today. Pretty amazing, but it's second fiddle now of course!

As for the Raptor SD 60, the cut is amazing, the speed, incredible!
What I like most about it is that it is well thought out mechanically.
Simplified wherever possible. Deck connections are obvious, and positive stops unlike so many tractors that use friction fits to hold deck leveling tight.

Changed the first oil out a little while back.
Curious to see what if any consensus is regarding oil viscosity, brand, and whether synthetic or not.
Interested to hear about filters too.
And of course blades.

Just got the machine delivered last night!! The only problem is that the engine guard is going to be delayed by a week or so, something with a problem at the factory?! Here are some picks:

Hello All,
Just purchased a Hustler Raptor 42 after extensive research. Now looking for a trailer to haul it with. Dealer said it will fit in a 4X6. Any comments on trailers everyone recommends?

Yep, they offer flex forks, upgraded seats, engine guards, etc.. for the Raptor line. Where are you in Illinois?
