Lawn-Boy 5024 Date of manufacture

I'm in the KW area and NAPA is where I got Grabber Green.

The green is a little bright. From what I've read, it is a closer match to the newer LBs than the 70s & 80 models.
It still looks great mind you, just a tint bright.
 
How about the "Lawn-Boy" lettering on the shroud? That's not a decal -- it's paint -- right? Will you use white paint with a stencil?

Thats a good point! I was thinking of just thinking of using matte vinyl. I am trying to get the logo as close as possible using adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. I have downloaded some vector art to try and merge together by overlaying original. I can also do it your way and reverse out the letters but would need to wait until paint is completely cured so as not to remove it when taking off the stencil. I think vinyl logo is the easier method!

I hope the vinyl that you use is resistant to fuel, etc. Same point applies to any paint that you put on a mower, of course.

I think they (bricktops) were lettered with paint originally.

Go to ebay look up lawnboy decals in the search box. There is a guy selling the vynel letters already ready to use. they look just fine.Used them on my 7084 restore.lawnboy 7084.jpg:wink:

Thanks everyone! Finished the project. Found Grabber Green Rust o leum engine paint at Lowes. Had logo done locally in vinyl. decided against painting it on with stencil. Yep now it sits in the garage don't plan on using it much I have another LB I use along with a JD 317 on my lazy days! I have posted some pics in the Albums section. Cheers Danny
