ZTR mower help

Looking to go ZTR this summer and looking for some opinions.

I've narrowed it down to 3 machines. All different sizes and prices but looking to get an idea if one is a better deal then the others.

Simplicity ZT 1500 - cost 2499 plus a 200 rebate

Simplicity ZT 2500 - cost 3699

Snapper 500z - demo model with .4 hours on it. Told it's never mowed a lawn and full warranty is included. Cost - 4300.

Snapper looks to be the best deal but is it needed for a 1.5 acre relatively flat lot with 12-14 trees on it.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally wouldn't buy anything made by Briggs & Stratton and if I were looking to spend that much money I'd surely check the prices on a Hustler or maybe a Toro before I made a decision and it would have a Kawasaki or Kohler engine.

I did look at the toro ss5000 (2999) and the ss5060 (3999) but I wasn't impressed with the deck.

Did you look at the MX models they have the Fab decks and the Huistler RaptorSD is a good mower and all serviceable.

The Toro MX5060 is presently available for $3,799. It has a Kawasaki engine, 50" fabricated / welded deck, and serviceable hydro units. I have had mine for a little over a year and I love it. Good luck with your search.

Did you look at the MX models they have the Fab decks and the Huistler RaptorSD is a good mower and all serviceable.

User Ric is spot on...you need to step up to the MX series of the Toro Timecutter(the SS is a basic homeowner model series). The MX5060 user Brucebotti has or the Hustler Raptor would both be good choices for what you are looking for.

With the Raptor SD more comparable to the MX5060. I am trying to choose between the two myself (separate thread).

The Snapper is obviously the better mower but for your purpose I think the Simplicity at 2299 is fine. You aren't going to be hauling this mower around on a trailer or buzzing around trying to finish quick and get to the next job. The only thing a homeowner needs to be concerned about is quality of cut and warranty. You don't need a fabricated deck, 10mph ground speed etc.
