If it has a low oil switch it will shut down the engine and restart after the oil is filled back up to the full mark or at least above the low oil switch. That is if your engine has such a switch. If not and you ran it way low then the engine stops due to lack of oil. And the damage is extreme. Engines can stop for other reason than low oil. That mower should be fairly new so I cannot imagine how it could be ran so low on oil. Fill it to the full mark and try it. There are other things you can do to try and free up one and check them over for damage. But first just make sure the oil is full and the engine free.

If it is a New engine, it can use some oil as it is getting it 'broke-in'.. Check it & keep it at a safe operating level..
I never start mine without first checking the oil..
