ZT mower won't turn over. Battery says 12.4v. It tries to turn over about 2 times then quits. Jumped with car and starts right away

Weak battery. How old is the battery? When it is running are you getting ~13-14v on the battery terminals? Depending on the answers, charge it or replace it and keep it on a trickle charger. You need to verify the charging system is working correctly or you will not fix the underlying cause.

Check battery voltage while the key is in the start position. If it drops below 10 VDC time for a new battery.
