When I make this machine work, ie put a load on it, it smokes the blade belt. Is this common?

It is not on the units here in town. They mow about like any other large Zturn. If the load is within reason then something is not right. However if the load being cut is more than can be discharged or the discharge chute is being plugged by mowing into the uncut tall grass then its just to much to low to fast.

+1 with possum and if I might add that if the grass is wet, it is even worse. Best to try a "slower" ground speed.
