Zama C1Q with Simple Start

I am working on a friend's line trimmer that has this Simple Start feature. I have never come across it before so I am not sure how it works. With the Simple Start engaged, the trimmer will start. As soon as I pull the throttle to disengage the start feature the trimmer dies. Is this most likely a clogged idle circuit or something wrong with the Simple Start feature. I was planning to strip the carb and soak it in cleaner. There appears to be just one screw that attaches the starting unit to the carb. Thanks for your replies.

The way you were describing the carb its a chokeless carb. Dont waste your time trying to clean it or rebuild it. The only fix is to replace the carb.
