Not a real wiring schematic in the service manual.

But check 508 YE and 105 BK. 508 is 12 v in and 105 is the ground. If no voltage on 508 with the ignition switch on then check the ignition switch B+ and that it is getting thru in run position.

I have 12 volts in 508 yellow . You can turn switch on and hour meter will come on, but it doesn’t register the hours and like I said this is a replacement hour meter so it is new .there’s 3 wires going to it yellow/black/ and white where does the white wire go to ?

Okay the wire is the magneto ground wire.

Kinda sounds like JD might have sold you the wrong hour meter. You need the AUC18011 and not the AUC15982. They look the same but they are different.

John Deere Auc17092 is the part number they sold me. So it is wrong.

Not necessary if you have the digital ignition coil(s) but I don't think the Briggs coils are digital (MDI) version.

This is a 25hp Kohler engine

Then if it is after 2013 engine serial it should have MDI ignition system. Maybe you just not getting the impulses from the coils via that white wire. Check the continuity between the meter and the coils. Note wire does feed to the ignition switch as a tie point then off to the coils per the schematic.

And I am getting a little frustrated as the forum keeps hanging the last few days. It took nearly 20 min earlier to get in.
