I have a John Deer Z-830A w/ FX751V-AS04-9 engine ... have oil leak at the engine block bushing for the govenor shaft linkage. Why would this be leaking and is there an easy fix?

The governor seal is more than likely bad then, but here is the scary part what caused it?
Most of the time it is a worn shaft, but it could be the seal just went bad.
Is there oil on the plugs?
Do you feel you have the right rpms of the engine at full throttle?
