Hi all, I'm very new to this forum so please be gentle.

I have a problem with my mower, it is a Yardman beetle model numbed 13A-320-643

It starts and idles fine but as soon as I engage the blade pedal the engine cuts out briefly spinning the blades.

Also it does not go into reverse but I think that is just a gear linkage problem.

Hello ,have a look at your seat switch as it might not be contacting as you engage your blades causing the engine to stop as it thinks you are not in the seat, as far as the reverse cable on that machine is concerned take carefull note on how it came apart as it can be a bit of a headache .Gary

Hello , just another thought , make sure your grass bag is pressing on the switch that tells the mower that it is in place. I think on that mower you lift the bag from under the seat ,the switch works on a lug on the bag .Gary:smile:
