I am about to purchase my 1st ever riding lawn mower. I would like to buy the Cubcadet XT-1 46 for the extra power in climbing the slopes on my lot. Trouble is I have a 48 inch gate and am concerned the mower will not fit through it. I have observed other home owners have a bungee cord tied to the discharge chute and their mowers seem to fit right through. Troube is none of them are cub cadets or 46" models. Can anybody answer this one for me. BTW I called Cub Cadet customer service and three charming ladys from the Philippines could not answer the question.

A 46" mowing deck will have an overall width closer to 50" even with the discharge chute tucked out of the way.
