I have a John Deere x530 multi terrain lawn tractor, had a pto switch go bad, ordered a new one, got part in replaced it and go to start and I get just a click, wife used mower up to the day we switched pto switch out, no issues. All it does is click, won’t turn over. I been replacing safety switches, and checking anything I can to trace why it won’t start. Anybody run into this issue?

If it's a safety switch you wouldn't even get a click. it sounds like a bad ground connection or battery connection .
Clean everything and try again.

Hmmm depends where the click is from. Is it the starter relay or is the fuel solenoid on the carb?

Also what is the mower's serial number as they use four different wiring setups on the X530? if above 90001 it might be the hood is not closed.

Make sure the battery has a full charge.Years ago, I had my very old JD332 's pto not turn on but the motor would run. I thought my switch was bad. For some reason I charged the battery and cleaned connections then everything worked.

And don't overlook the click that can occur when the electric pto is engaged. Sometimes can be confused for a different click but will prevent starting.

Make sure you installed the proper replacement PTO switch. They may look the same, but terminal may be different. This I’d especially true if you purchased off FleaBay or AutoScam.
