I have a 2007 X340 that runs like a dream without a single problem since purchase in March 2007. Yesterday, I tried to start it and the battery was dead. I boosted it with my truck and unplugged the safety switch under the seat so I could let it high idle for a couple hours to charge the battery. Worked like a charm. When I tried to drive the mower, it would stall, forward or reverse. This was yesterday. Today, I checked the air filter and cleaned it. The carb bowl was spotless. Now, when I release the clutch/brake, it stalls. I thought I'd need to bring it in for service, but I checked out this forum. I found a thread where it was suggested to take off the fuel cap, thinking the breather may be clogged. Tried that... no good. Came back to search some more and before I even sat down, I remembered the safety switch under the seat. Went back out and plugged it back in. X340 works perfectly again... User error, brain cramp, dumb*** Any way I look at it, Thanks for being here!!! I posted this in hopes that my mistake may help someone else.
