X 300 quits running

Hi, I have an x 300 with only 42 hours on it. Sometimes, a few times, it will shut down after mowing for an hour. Then it will start but run really rough. When I turn the mower key off, it runs really good for a second till it turns off. After leaving it for a half hour or so, it starts up and runs, but a little rough , I can finish what I have to do. I have had this trouble on other mowers. Is it related to oil levels, I have had a little too much at times? Or is it a coil issue. Or something else. Its so new I would think the coil would be ok. I am hesitant to take it in because they charge an arm and a leg. I am thinking about just putting a new coil on , it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult , but I have never done it before. It has a Kawasaki engine. Thanks for any help

This sounds like a blocked tank breather remove the fuel cap when it does it again

I put more gas in so I took off the cap. It ran a little better after that but not much , it still wasn't useable at that point.

we have the same problem with ours. runs fine till you stop then it may or may not re-start. intermittent problem. first problem i have had with a john deere product in the 40 plus years we have owned them. extremely aggravating.

I know its frustrating. I want to use it for snowblowing but i'm hesitant because it is not reliable and snow blowing is something that has to get done, not maybe. I had a Sabre that did the same thing exactly, but it was older. I was going to try a new coil, because I read that coils go bad and it seems like an easy fix. Unfortunately I may not know how it works out till spring and I need the mower a lot.
