Great forum you all have here. I have trolled around reading many of the posts.
I have a Lawn-boy 21" push mower bought new in about '75' not sure of the model. It has finally failed due to the coil going south, without the mower. A check of the local supply indicates the coil is $85.00. That sounds high to me. I was expecting a $12 part.
However, what I would really like is a mower I first saw about 1965 and it was old then. It was two stroke and I thought it was a Lawn-boy but I cannot find any pictures of anything like it in the Lawn-boy pages. The pull rope starter was not recoil and you had to attach it via the knot in a slot in the pulley then wind up each time. the gas tank was a brass cylinder a little above the carb. The engine shroud was very simple and the minimum to direct airflow across as needed. Any ideas what it was that I saw? Lawn-boy every make anything like it?
