I have a 1962 riding mower with a B&S verticle engine on it.
There's a decal on the front that says AM 600.

Can anyone tell me more about this mower, i.e. the manufacture, etc.

i would say a Wards, but i can't make a clear assumption

Thanks for your reply. I tried searching for 1960's Wards riding mowers
last night, but didn't find anything remotely similar in Wards,
or other brands. Will keep trying!

Whats weird is way back when i was little( under 10 years old), my dad had a mower similar to that - something broke in the steering and he ended up giving it to the neighbor and bot a push mower.

That was back in the 70's, so its the right decade.

i'm sorry, the really bad thing is i saw a mower just like that at a auction in july. i may have to talk to a friend, he tried to buy it.
