We cut in the teens of yards weekly. Right now we are running Cub cadet trimmers that we bought at Tractor supply. We bought the first one last August and I bought a second one last month. When we got both they did not run that great but we got the tool to tweak the carburetor on them and now they run excellently. Both of mine are the 27cc 2 cycle models and I bought them from Tractor Supply for something like $169 ea.

They are the split pole unit which allows you to use various attachments with the power head. My oldest one has many hours on it using the trimmer head, the brush blade, the pole saw, the hedge trimmers, and the edger.

I have seen people give them some bad reviews but ours are running strong and have had NO problems.

They might be an option for you as we'll.

Well I'm a little reluctant to again recommend this low end sears to a professional , but I love the 31 cc 2 stroker which I had in a really great Ryobi 791. It's a bump head with a 2 compartment rewind , 090 string. split (click on) shaft which accepts the old ryobi blade etc.. On sale locally $115 sears pickup. Have used it for a couple hours and is like the ryobi . It will need high-low speed carb tweak out of box. You can buy 2 within budget.

I had bad luck with a Stihl once. Plus, I need something better than the FS 56 RCE. I could get an FS 70, but they are heavy, overpriced, and are apparently have a vibrating problem. And I don't like the 4-mix stuff.

The clutch went out and it needs a new carb. It is out of warranty by THREE WEEKS!!!!! About $170 to fix it:frown: I'd rather just buy something new.
