Be sure you buy the real deal Briggs red. Costs more but worth it.

I tried the clones, every one of them eventually started leaking at the seam.
Waste of money and time.

I don't use the red pancake filters. Not fine enough filtering to prevent debris from not sticking the float valve open. I start with the white pancake and then go up in quality from there. The red filters are 150 micron and the white ones are 75 micron. I use the white ones for gravity flow and the 84001895/491035 40 micron filters for fuel pump engines or the 10 micron Kohler 24 050 13-S filters

Go with the genuine B&S, forget the cheap knockoff ones.

I like to buy the 75 micron clear ones so I can see whats going on in the filter if there is debris coming from the tank

I too don't use the red 150 mics. Not enough filtering as mentioned above. Nothing but a window screen inside it.

The white 75 mics are okay on push mowers. I prefer the cellulose or paper filters on gravity and fuel pump engines.

Still wondering if the bronze filter media snow blower or snow mobile types are better than cellulose at filtering.
