Which fuel filter to use?

There are apparently two gas filters that work with a Husqvarna YTH2448 / Briggs engine model 446677 I just picked up.

30 micron "extended life"

and 40 micron regular I guess.

My engine says it is the extended like series but current filter looks like neither of these. I was wondering if someone could explain the difference including if there's a risk with the extended life in the event a prior fuel pump repair was replaced with something from the "regular" line.
