Ok now I need to know who makes the best small engine today for a new 48"-52" Garden Tractor.
Briggs & Stratton? Kohler? Kawasaki?
Need to mow and do some hauling with it.
Mowing is fairly flat and is 2 acres.

IMO..I think all good if taken care of. You may have a lemon with any of them.

I would go with a kaw or Briggs but not a Briggs intex more along the lines of a vanguard one and about 23-25 Hp is plenty of power for all the stuff u wanna do though
Any machine that has a belt drive to the rear unit will have limited ability to apply the engine power to the drive wheels. Larger mower decks will take more power from the engine. Do your homework and check all the specs of the garden tractors that are of interest to you, look for how the drive unit is connected to the engine, stay away from the belt drive machines if you want a capable garden tractor.
