Where's the fuel filter on this engine?

I had to work on Dad's pressure washer the other day. This is not the exactly the same engine as the one below but a 6.5 B&S version built maybe 10 to 13 years ago. About the only difference is the air cleaner.

I wasn't sure what was wrong with it (wouldn't start) but I think the carb was gummed up from sitting so I took the bowl off and sprayed everything with carb cleaner, blew the main jet out with air just to see if that would work before removing it completely. The fuel lines were cracked so I replaced those while I was at it but what puzzled me was there is no external fuel filter on it between the shut off valve and the carb. I'm guessing it's in the tank?

How would you replace it? There doesn't seem to be anyway to break the tank apart. Replace the whole tank?

I stuck the nozzle from my parts washer up to the fuel port and backwashed it with kerosene.

It's running fine now.

Yes, their is a screen in the outlet of the tank which can be cleaned by backwashing/blowing and rinsing.
