Boy I did make a lulu mistake this week. I went and brought a $200 hub puller based the instructions in the JD Z920M service manual. Well it will not work on the Tuff Torq hub. Oh it fit up fine just can't pop the hub. Contacted the Local JD repair shop and they had no idea if it possible or not. I finally contacted Tuff Torq about it.

Of course the answer I got back from Tuff Torq wasn't the one I was hoping for but was a method I had already used in the past. I was just hoping I was doing something wrong or didn't have enough impact power Oh well it will take several hours to replace the axle seal as I going to need to pull the transaxle for disassembly so I can get the axle out.

Just why did JD service had to say it was possible when it wasn't? I love have access the tech writer and kick his butt up around his shoulders. BTW the service manual is not worth what was paid for it when it has the wrong info in it.

I work at a Deere dealership and looked in the TM127619 tech manual to see if it is indeed incorrect. Unless you are looking in the wrong manual, the correct tech manual (TM127619) for the Z920M does tell you to remove the axle shaft from the transmission to replace the hub seal. It is part of the transmission disassembly instructions. I'm sorry the dealership you contacted didn't take the time to get you the right information. See attached pics.
