I am not a lawnmower mechanic and got tired of playing one or paying one, way to often. I bought a new mower last Saturday a Bigdog Alpha 42", so I am going to get rid of the Huskee (MTD). It is a 2005 from Tractor Supply with a 24 hp B&S that still runs and starts like new with no oil loss. It still runs and cuts but only in reverse . That's the catch and I suspect it is the hydro trans. It sounds like a box or rocks in forward but not in reverse.

Now that I wrote a book what is it worth and whats the best to do with it? Should I scrap it? If someone needs the motor or parts they can get them cheap.

Clean it up a little and post it on Craigslist.

You will get more money for the engine by its self than the mower as one piece. $300 to $400 for a quick sale and $450 to $500 for langer sale.
